What is Pink Ribbon Day?

Monday, 25th October 2010 is Pink Ribbon Day – a day when all Australians can come together to show their support for the many thousands of women battling breast cancer.

In Australia, it is estimated that over 12,000 women are diagnosed with breast cancer each year, with more than 2,500 women tragically losing their lives to this terrible disease.

Cancer Council’s Pink Ribbon Day helps raise awareness about breast cancer, as well as funds, in support of the many thousands of Australian women affected by this disease.

Pink Ribbon Day products are on sale throughout October, and you can donate to Pink Ribbon Day at anytime.

What Pink Ribbon products are available this year?

This year’s Pink products are: Pink Ribbon pins; silk ($3), enamel ($5) and diamante ($10), cuddly Penny Bear ($10), Pink Ribbon pens ($6) and wristbands ($4). This years merchandise box (value of $186) contains Pink Ribbon pins; silk, enamel and diamante as well as Pink Ribbon pens.

Where can I purchase Pink Ribbon t-shirts?

This year we have Pink Ribbon tees available to purchase online or by calling your Cancer Council 1300 65 65 85.

Choose from two designs*; Sass & Bide designer t-shirt ($50), Pink Ribbon slim-fit t-shirt ($30) or Pink Ribbon regular-fit t-shirt ($30).

What can I expect to receive when I place an order for a Pink Ribbon box?

You will receive a Pink Ribbon box containing your Pink Ribbon products as well as an event poster, banking details and event information.

This year’s Pink Ribbon box includes: Pink Ribbon pins; silk ($3), enamel ($5) and diamante ($10) and Pink Ribbon Day pens ($6). We also have cuddly Penny Bears ($10) available separately.

I have my Pink Ribbon box, when should I start to sell the products?

You can start selling your Pink products as soon as you receive it! While the official date of Pink Ribbon Day is 26th of October, merchandise is sold right throughout the month of October.

I have almost sold all my Pink Ribbon products. Can I order additional stock?

You can order additional pink products online or by calling 1300 65 65 85.

How do I return the funds I have raised to Cancer Council?

Funds can be returned to your state or territory member of Cancer Council by using the deposit slip provided with the Pink Ribbon box, by credit card, Bpay or by sending a cheque. All of this information will be provided with your Pink Ribbon Day order.

How can I volunteer for Pink Ribbon Day?

Cancer Council requires thousands of volunteers to assist with the preparation of the event and on the day itself. If you have some time (as little or as much as you can spare) please register your details online or by calling your state volunteer coordinator on 1300 65 65 85.

Is my online donation tax deductible?

Yes, all donations $2.00 or more are tax deductible. Simply fill in all the requested details when making an online donation (including a valid email address), and you will automatically receive an official tax receipt from Cancer Council

Is there a minimum amount I can donate?

No, there is no minimum amount for online fundraising, however please note that you will only receive a tax receipt for donations of $2.00 or more.

How do I know if my donation was successful?

If you have provided a valid email address when making an online donation, you will receive a tax receipt via email shortly after you complete your donation.

What if I have entered the incorrect amount for my donation?

All donations are in Australian Dollars, if you accidently donate an incorrect amount via credit card please contact 1300 65 65 85 and we will refund the requested amount to the credit card used to make the original donation.
